In addition to completing the core curriculum requirements, students pursuing a major in History must complete the following major program requirements, obtaining a grade of C- or better in all major courses:
Requirements for a major in history
1. Foundation Courses:
HIST 1101 and 1102 World Civilization2. Two (2) courses from:
HIST 3319 Nineteenth-Century America3. Two (2) courses from:
HIST 3301 The Greco-Roman World4. Two (2) required courses:
HIST 2000 Research Methods in History5. An additional Two (2) required elective courses either 3000/4000 level History and/or related crosslisted courses. Crosslisted courses that can count toward this requirement include:
POLS 3311The total major course requirements are 36 semester hours of credit.
History majors are encouraged to pursue the widest possible liberal arts preparation by the careful selection of courses from the Ethos Curriculum structure.
