This course will survey animated cinema from the perspective of film history and theory, cinematic aesthetics, film industry and technology, film production models, and animation techniques. Emphasis will be placed on developing and refining active viewership skills and articulating thoughtful film analysis, as well an understanding of the development of animation as a medium in global social, cultural, and political contexts
