Philanthropy annual event

The college will participate in GivingTuesday, the annual day of philanthropy, on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The event encourages people around the world to make a difference by supporting organizations that positively impact their communities. LaGrange College invites alumni, friends and supporters to give a donation to the LaGrange College Fund, which helps students access financial aid and provides resources that make their education possible.

“I am so thankful for the generosity of donors,” said senior Kenzie Hornsby. “They truly have made it possible for me to be at LaGrange College, and I will never be able to thank them enough for that. I love this place, these people and the life I have built here more than I could ever explain.”

Jennifer Beedy Booker ’90, Assistant Director of the LC Fund, noted that, “GivingTuesday provides an opportunity for the college’s extended family of alumni and friends to come together and show their support for current and future students. Donations received on GivingTuesday provide funding for scholarships and essential programmatic support for students across a wide range of disciplines.”

Additionally, the LCF helps support campus resources like the Writing Center, peer tutoring, academic coaching and career services—all vital components of a well-rounded student experience that prepare LaGrange students for success beyond graduation, noted Andy Geeter, LC Director of Development.

“In a season focused on gratitude and giving, LaGrange College is proud to participate in GivingTuesday, a day that reflects its values of service, excellence and community,” Geeter said. “Every contribution strengthens the LaGrange College community, supporting students as they work toward their dreams and prepare for meaningful lives of leadership and service.”

Additionally, through the generosity of an anonymous donor, contributions made for GivingTuesday will be matched up to $25,000, doubling the impact of donors’ support.  Any gifts made through the college’s GivingTuesday page at www.lagrange.edu/givingtuesday through Dec. 3 will count toward the match as will all gifts made on the global day of giving.

“Donor-funded scholarships have made a huge difference in my life,” said sophomore Tito Hernandez ’27. “I’m thankful for people believing in students like me.”
