Testing Services

SPECIFIC ACCOMMODATIONS

Eligible students are responsible for scheduling exams with Testing Services. For those requiring accommodated testing, students must provide the Academic Accommodation Letter for that term to ensure accommodations are met.

Students must discuss their intention to use Testing Services with their instructors. Once specifics are discussed and agreed upon between student and faculty, students may schedule semester exams.

SCHEDULING

• Testing Services requests students schedule at least 3 days in advance. Drop-in testing is not currently available.
• Exams begin no earlier than 8:30 AM and must finish by 5:00 PM.

To schedule an appointment for accommodated testing, a student must:

• First discuss accommodations with their professor
• Submit signed Academic Accommodation letter to Accessibility Services Coordinator
• Make a plan with professor to use the student testing center for entire course
• Schedule testing dates and times with Testing Services Coordinator

The Testing Services Coordinator will confirm all scheduled exam dates and times with the student and the professor.

• Arrive 10 minutes prior with all the materials needed for the exam (e.g. pencil, calculator, etc.).
• Verify the exam is for the correct course and test number before beginning.
• The test will start at the scheduled time, and must be completed within the scheduled time frame. If the student arrives late for the exam, the end time will not be adjusted.
• If the exam begins late at fault of the testing center, students will receive the allotted accommodation examination time.
• Exams will be stopped at the designated end time, regardless of completion. Student requests for additional time must be communicated directly with their instructor.

PERSONAL ITEMS

• All personal items including backpacks, purses, cell phones, etc. are stored in a secure location for the duration of the exam time.
• Additionally, all hats, sunglasses and oversized jackets or coats should be removed.
• Students are allowed to use earplugs during an exam. Unless otherwise approved, students are not allowed anything electronic (earbuds, noise-canceling headphones, etc).

TESTING SITE

• The available testing sites meet the requirements of distraction-reduced environment to provide reduced auditory and visual stimuli.
• The available testing sites meet the requirements of a distraction-reduced environment to provide spaces with reduced auditory and visual stimuli.
• If a student requires a private testing space, they should communicate the need during the scheduling process.

BREAKS

• Breaks during testing, including restroom breaks, are only permitted if stated in the Academic Accommodation Letter.
• Any student taking a break that is not allowed will be reported to the professor.
• Accessing locked materials during a break is NOT allowed unless otherwise permitted for accommodation purposes.

STUDENT BEHAVIOR

• Distracting behaviors may result in a student being asked to leave and consequently make other testing arrangements with their professor.

All test materials are collected by PACE staff at the end of the scheduled exam time, including scratch paper or formula sheets.
