Casting

All Musical Theatre majors or intended majors are required to audition for each departmental production. These auditions are formal presentations, closed to fellow students, which may require contrasting monologues and 16 bars of an uptempo and Broadway ballad. Directors will post audition requirements before each audition. Callbacks are usually held following the auditions. First-year students may be cast their first semester at LaGrange College. All majors or intended majors, if not cast, are assigned duties in each production either as technical staff including stage managment, properties, sound, lighting, scenery construction, scenic painting, run crew, house management or publicity.

All LC students are encouraged to audition for each production. Students who are not Musical Theatre/Theatre Arts majors may be given a selection from a script to read at the audition.
